From the Coast of Koura: A Trip to Anfeh the Capital of Lebanese Salt throughout History.
On its rocky shores, Ras Al Malalih is a large network of saltpans excavated with hammers and chisels, as vases and canals that are today among the rare monuments of the world, witnessing the heritage of Lebanese salt in Anfeh.
The traditional saltpans are located on one of the cleanest Lebanese beaches. Ras Al Natour, a humid area and an ecological model, consists of a large network of salty waters between the sea and the forests of Basil, Inulas, Seaweed, Pistacia, Oaks and many aromatic and medicinal plants.
Lebanese salt from Anfeh is of high quality, clean and naturally embraces balanced elements; it does not contain any additives, and has not undergone any additional refining. Moreover, since we are experienced and work honestly, we know how to extract salt practically and manually from these saltpans for you to get extremely pure and good salt free of bitter salt and heavy insoluble salt crystals.
Lebanese salt is the snow of the sea in the summers of Anfeh. An authentic national heritage and inexhaustible treasure made by nature and from nature through pumping seawater into the saltpans using air wheels energy wind on the rocky beach. Exposed to the sun, the water then evaporates. The salt will be coarse if the air coming from the west is humid; while if the eastern air is dry and low in humidity, the product will be fine, pure, distinct in flavor when added to raw foods, natural, free of heavy and bitter salt, with bright white flakes floating at the surface of the saltpans.
